Start of the Year

Hello and welcome to the newest edition of Franzen Comes Alive! Each year my blog takes on different roles depending on the needs of the class. Normally the year will start with weekly updates, and then different resources will be added to augment the curriculum.

I wanted to take this first this first post and tell a little bit about me. This is my seventh year in fifth grade, although it is my tenth year working in the district. In addition to being a classroom teacher I am the K-5 Social Studies coordinator. I have a masters from Lehigh in Instructional Technology. Currently I am working on my Principal certification and Curriculum and Instruction certification.

Over the summer I worked at a bike shop and did a lot of biking. I also took a trip with my family to Kentucky to visit my brother. I also spent  time writing a new social studies curriculum for the fifth grade.

I have heard great things about this class and I am excited to get this year rolling! After just a few days I know that we are going to have a great year!
